FAQs

MINI Heat Pump

Why is my heat pump not heating properly or why is the heating effect poor?
  1. Undersized unit – If the heat pump model is too small for your pool, it may take much longer to heat or may not reach the desired temperature.
  2. Cold environment – Heat pump efficiency decreases in colder weather, which can reduce heating performance.
  3. Poor installation location – If the unit is installed in an area with limited airflow, it won’t be able to operate at full capacity.
  4. Incorrect plumbing – If the inlet and outlet pipes are connected in reverse, the heat pump will not be able to heat properly.
  5. No pool cover – Without a pool cover, heat loss is significant and insulation is poor, which greatly reduces heating efficiency.
Is my pool pump compatible with the heat pump?

There is minimum water flow rate required for each models.

  • 12,000BTU requires 343GPH
  • 16,000BTU requires 454GPH
  • 18,000BTU requires 528GPH
Can the heat pump be used in saltwater pools?

Yes, it is compatible. It uses a titanium heat exchanger that is corrosion-resistant.

Can it connect to WiFi?

The HEX012-HEX018 unit currently does not support WiFi control and has no mobile app currently.

Why is an E03 error displayed?

Error E03 indicates insufficient water flow into the heat pump. Check if your pool pump’s flow rate meets the standard. Are you using a diverter valve that reduces flow rate? Is the piping installed correctly? Are there any blockages in the pipes?

Why can’t I change the set temperature?

The screen is locked. Press and hold the power button for more than 3 seconds to unlock it, then operate as normal.

Why is the product dripping water constantly?

The condensate pipe is not installed. The condensate pipe needs to be installed to ensure proper drainage and prevent water accumulation that may affect operation.

Is it necessary to install a bypass valve?

If the your pump flow rate is much higher than the heat pump’s requirement, a bypass valve can be installed. This helps manage the pool system more effectively.

Where should the heat pump be placed?

It should be placed on a flat surface with 50-100 cm of clearance at the air outlet. Install it in a well-ventilated area.

Why didn’t I receive the water pipes?

Water pipes are not provided. Customers need to prepare them themselves.

What are the voltage and current requirements for the HEX012, HEX016, and HEX018?
  • HEX012: Rated voltage 115V, rated current 7.3A – plug-and-play ready.
  • HEX016: Rated voltage 115V, rated current 11.9A – plug-and-play ready.
  • HEX018: Rated voltage 115V, rated current 12.6A – plug-and-play ready.
Is it necessary to use a pool cover?

Yes, a pool cover improves heating efficiency and reduces heat loss, especially during cold nights, which helps lower operating costs.

How to maintain the heat pump for maximum efficiency?

To maintain optimal heat exchange efficiency, regularly clean the heat exchanger surface and air filter to prevent dust, leaves, or debris from blocking heat dissipation and air intake.

How to perform freeze protection in winter?

During cold seasons or when not in use for extended periods, drain all water from the unit to prevent freezing and damage to the heat pump pipes.

What is the purpose of P1 and P2 on the right side of the heat pump wiring?

They are used to connect the power cables of the water pump. Once connected, the heat pump can act as the power source for the pump, enabling simultaneous start/stop. This requires both the pump and heat pump to be on the same voltage.

Why is the fan not spinning even when the display shows "ON"?

OFF + sun icon indicates the unit is actually on.

ON without sun icon indicates the unit is in standby mode.

Can the heat pump be used in saltwater pools?

Yes, it is compatible. It uses a titanium heat exchanger that is corrosion-resistant.

Is my pool pump compatible with the heat pump?

There is minimum water flow rate required for each models.

  • 22,000BTU requires 660GPH
  • 35,000BTU requires 1188GPH
  • 55,000BTU requires 1717GPH
  • 75,000BTU requires 2377GPH
  • 100,000BTU requires 5547GPH
How should I wire my heat pump? Hardwiring?

The customer needs to connect L1, L2, and ground wire on the left side. Terminal screws must be tightened. Pictures have been provided.

What are the voltage, current, and circuit breaker requirements for HEX022, HEX035, HEX055, HEX075, and HEX100?
